Hit an ON switch, and finish on a Fire Vellumental Magic Circle.
THE MAGIC CIRCLE GAME WALKTHROUGH FREE
You’re free to do whatever you want this turn. You don’t have to worry about the treasure chest this time - the ON switch will be back next turn. After you finish, it won’t be able to counterattack, so you’re safe this turn. The 1,000-Fold Arms attack will drain about half of the Ice Vellumental’s health.Don’t worry about extra Ring Moves or extra attacks, but try to spin in a heart into your path if you can. This time, though, you want to finish on a 1,000-Fold Arm. Once again, you’re going to hit an ON switch, and a Magic Circle.

You’ll get hit with and attack like a Bear Claw (which attack the Ice Vellumental uses depends on your distance from it).The fire attack will melt the ice, and open the Ice Vellumental to a strong attack next turn. This turn, you have two goals: Hit the ON switch, and finish on a Fire Vellumental Magic Circle.Do your best to block this, because it’s a devastating attack if it lands. You’ll get hit with a Polar Roller attack. It doesn’t matter where you end up because you won’t be able to do any damage no matter what you try. This will toss out an ON switch for next turn. You only have one goal in the first turn: hit the treasure chest.Instead of spin-by-spin directions, we’ll give you goals for each turn.

The tiles, arrows, and items will change every fight and every round. Unlike the first few boss fights, this one doesn’t have a set pattern. Below, we’ll go step-by-step through this fight. Knowing what to do and managing to do it are sometimes two different things in Paper Mario: The Origami King. You have to navigate (at least) two Ice Mazes to finish the fight. The paths you see will always pass over an ON switch, and end on a 1,000-Fold Arms Magic Circle. During this phase, you’ll see a path lined by ice blocks, the blocks will disappear and the rings will spin, and then you’ll have to recreate the path. When you’ve dropped the Ice Vellumental’s health by about two-thirds, the fight will switch to the Ice Maze phase. You’ll be able to break ice blocks by sliding the tile off the edge of the arena (and then you can move them right back). This will drop the Ice Vellumental’s health by about a third.ĭuring the second Fire and 1,000-Fold Arms sequence, you’ll have to deal with snowy tiles that will freeze you in place, and ice blocks that will prevent you from reaching important items. With the ice melted, you’ll need to hit it with a 1,000-Fold Arms attack. You’ll need to activate a Fire Vellumental Magic Circle to melt the ice. The Ice Vellumental fight has two phases: Fire Vellumental Magic Circle attacks followed by 1,000-Fold Arms Magic Circle attacks, and then an Ice Maze phase.įor most of the first phase of this fight, the Ice Vellumental will be encased in a block of ice and you won’t be able to deal any damage. All damage you deal in this fight will be from Magic Circles. Like the Fire Vellumental, this Paper Mario: The Origami King fight is random, so we won’t be able to give you spin-by-spin directions, and you’ll have to chart your own paths every time you tackle it.ĭon’t worry about your boot or hammer attacks. In this Paper Mario: The Origami King guide, we’ll let you know the rules to the Ice Vellumental on Diamond Island so you don’t have to learn them the hard way, and then we’ll give you step-by-step guides to defeating it. Not knowing them means you’ll waste turns and open yourself to more damage. In every fight against a Boss or a Vellumental, like this fight against the Ice Vellumental on Diamond Island, you’ll have to chart a path for Mario from the outside ring in and land on an attack action.Įvery boss fight in Paper Mario: The Origami King has rules that you’ll learn over the course of your turns. Paper Mario: The Origami King’s boss fights introduce a twist on the game’s spinning ring-based combat.
